By road, it is connected to cities of Assam and Mizoram very well. The city is connected by railway lines only recently. It was in 2008 the Agartala railway station was inaugurated. You would get trains to reach from Silichar and Lumding. If you want to come via Guwahati, you will have to get down at Lumding and from Lumding you would get direct trains to Agartala.
