Bengaluru (Bangalore) is the capital city of Karnataka state. It is an IT hub, so, is called as the silicon city. Bengaluru is a dream destination for the software engineers. About the city:The city was founded by the local ruler Kempe Gouda. In 1831, Bengaluru was made the capital center replacing Mysore. During the British period Bengaluru hosted the British cantonment. The city has seen drastic growth in recent years due to the IT sector. The city has become a cosmopolitan city comprising of national and international communities. Kannada, Tamil and Telugu are the major spoken languages other than English and Hindi. The city is cool except in summer. Bengaluru has both domestic and international airports. The road transport facility (Majestic Bus stand) run by the State Govt (KSRTC) is the most advanced and well maintained one. Places to visitIf you are a visitor for one or two days then select important points to be covered form the list, otherwise you would need more than a week to cover the cityscape as well as the outskirts of Bengaluru.

» Vidhan Soudha: It is the state legislative building. It was built by the then Chief Minister of Karanataka State, Kengal Hanumanthaiyya. The elegant granite structure with its grand entrance is a must see spot. The state High court building just opposite the Vidhan Soudha is also a spot to be covered.
» For nature lovers and picnic mongers: They can think of going to the Lalbhag and the Cubbon Park. These are main gardens of the city comprising of botanical garden, glass house, zoo, and museum and children parks. People can visit Bannerughatta National Park, Ulsoor Lake, and sankey Tank.
» For temple goers: The famous bull temple, Dodda Ganapathi temple, ISKON temple, and Hanuman temple are the major spots.
» For people interested in Historical monuments: They can visit the Bangalore Palace, and Tippu Sultan palace. »For people who are interested in the theatre activities can visit Rangashankara (concept by Arundhathi Nag). The theatre stages dramas throughout the year. Also visit Nrutyagrama (dance gurukul founded by Protima Bedi) which is just 30km away from the city.
» For a weekend getaway there are many viewpoints around Bangalore such as Nandi Hills, Shrirangapattana, Mekedaatu, Shivanasamudra falls, and Mysore.
