Bareilly is the administrative headquarters of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh. The city lies on the banks of Ramganga River. It is one among the major metros of U.P. Likewise, Hindus from Pakistan migrated to Bareilly. The city displays a blend of cultures. You can find a blend of Awadhi, Brij, Pahaari and Haryanavi culture. Pilibhit, Rampur, Udham Singh Nagar, Badaun cities are the nearby major cities. It is an educational hub comprising several research institutes and colleges. The city houses Indo-Tibetan Border Police headquarters and has a military regiment.

You can reach Bareilly by road and railways. Bareilly Railway Junction is a major junction in the North western railways. The city is served by six railway stations connecting cities from North east to North West.
However, if you want to travel by air route the Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest airport. You can reach via Pantnagar, which has direct connections to Delhi by air.
