The temple town of Bhadrachalam is located in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh district of south India. Bhadrachalam temple is Lord Rama temple which is a pilgrimage site is located on the banks of Godawari River. The Bhadrachalam town is connected to rest of the country by rail and roads. The nearest railway station is Kathgodam (40 Kms). As Kathgodam station does not have direct link to other major cities like Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai, Khammam (100 Kms) which is also the district headquarters of Bhadrachalam is the nearest Railway station. As of today Bhadrachalam is the second most important Shri Rama Teertha keshtra after Ayodhya. It stands at a place which was earlier the part of Dandakaranya forest where Lord Rama retreated; the hut from where Sita Devi was abducted by the demon king Ravana is located at parnasala about 32 Kms from here. The archa vigharas at Bhadrachalam is said to be self ?manifested vigharas of Lord Rama Lakshmana and Sita Devi. Pranshala is supposed to be the spot where Lord had made a Hermitage while in Exile
