Buldhana is a hill district (average elevation 639 meters / 2096 Feet) of Maharashtra state in India. It is located in the Ajanta Range Mountains in central India. Lonar a salt lake is located here. The lake is formed in the crater developed due to impact of a 2 million tones 60 meters wide Meteorite which hit the earth some 52000 years back. The crater is about 1850 meters in Diameter and 150 meters deep. Shegaon the place of Saint Gajanan Maharaj lies in Buldhana. The only means of transport in Buldhana is by Road. As it is located on the top of hill laying railway lines was not possible hence only road connection is made. The nearest railway station is Malkapur. Though being a district place Buldhana is not quite developed as compared to its other taluka places like Malkapur and Chikhili which has grown economically and culturally. Main attraction in Buldhana is Sunset Point on Ghats, Ranicha Baag Zoo and Gavdevi temple.
