Dandeli is in the Uttara Kannada (North Canara) district of Karnataka State. It is a perfect place for nature lovers, and for those who love adventure sports. Dandeli is blessed with river Kali, dense forests and various kinds of wild habitat. Dandeli invites the city dwellers for rejuvenation. Tourism in Dandeli is a recent development. Earlier it was the city known for Paper mills. Two power stations (Hydro-electric) have been set up in Dandeli. Dandeli is well connected to Goa (145 km), Dharwad (57 km), Hubli (72km), Belgaum (109km) and to Karwar (117km) by road. It is not directly connected by air and railway. Nearest airport is in Belgaum and you can opt for Goa airport too. You will get train connection from Londa, Hubli and Dharwad. Alnawar, near Dharwad is the nearest railway station. Dandeli offers very good accommodation for the tourists. Many cottages, resorts have been built providing a unique experience of staying in a jungle resort. Wake up to a morning listening to the chirping of variety of birds, and if you happen to stay during Monsoon then that would be a lifetime experience! You can go for a jungle safari and take a round in the Wild life sanctuary. The wild sanctuary in Dandeli consists of Black Panthars, Sambar deer, Bisons, Hornbills and Malbar squirrels. • Syntheri rocks: This is situated in the Wildlife sanctuary on the banks of Kalindi River. A monolith rock and a waterfall are the main attractions here. A good picnic spot.
• Visit Cavla caves if time permits. Road to the caves is not so good and caves are not well maintained. But, if you are game for unraveling something new you can take the risk of visiting the caves.
• You can make a trip to Kali river valley.
