Galtaji is an old holy site located on jaipur Highway at a distance of 10 Kms from Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan, India. Galtaji is famous for its Temples, pavalions, natural springs and holy Kunds. There are many Kunds in Galtaji where water from natural springs is collected. Galtaji Kund is most famous among 7 Kunds of the complex. It is believed that one is absolved of sins on bathing in Galtaji Kund. The Galtaji Temple is a prehistoric temple of pilgrimage and is located at the beautiful green surroundings it is visited my people from near and far alike. The temple was build by the diwan Rao Kriparam (a courtier of Maharaja Swaai Jai Singh II) at the meditation site of saint Galav who meditated here for a very long period of time. Built in Pink stone, the magnificent temple resembles a haveli (a big mansion or house). A large tribe of monkeys inhabit this area. Other temples in the area are Balaji Temple, Hanuman temple, Surya Temple and many other temples. If personal car or taxi is not arranged one can easily reach Galtaji by bus or other public mode of transport from Jaipur.
