Harihareshwar is a city on the western coast of India in the State of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Raigad district. It is a small city with a tranquil beach. The city is a popular weekend getaway for the people staying Pune and Mumbai along with Shrivardhan and Diveagar beaches. The city is at distance of about 170 km from Pune. There is a temple of Shiva in the city. Harihareshwar is known as Dakshin Kashi. It is surrounded by four hills with a pristine beach in the midland. One can even reach its bay through a launch from Shrivardhan beach. The city hosts a Kalabhairava temple. The temple is associated with the Kalabhairava Jayanti Utsav to be organized every year. Mangaon is the nearest railhead to reach Harihareshwar. The trinities ?Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are the deities worshipped at Harihareshwar temple. The temple complex consists of the well known Kala Bhairava temple and Yogeshwari temple. The city lies on the Raigad coast line along with two other famous beaches. Two famous beaches called Shrivardhan and Diveagar are very close to the city. The River Savitri joins the Arabian Sea passing through the city in a creek. The city is a destination for the religious minded as well as for those who need a break from their busy city life.
