Jabalpur, which was known as Jabalipuram or Jubbulpore in the olden times, is surrounded by Nagpur, Bhopal, Raipur and Allahabad. Bhedaghat: This place is situated at about 25 km from Jabalpur. People visit this place to see marble rocks on both the sides of Narmada River. It is a popular picnic spot.
Dhuandhar: This is also around 25 km away. It is best known for smoky waterfalls.
Visit a 10th century temple called Chausatyogini temple facing the Narmada River. There is a volcanic rock which is also called balancing rock in Jabalpur. It is a geographical wonder.
There are a few Wildlife National Parks near the city. Kanha National Park is quite famous among all. This park was the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling to write his Jungle Book. If time permits go to Pench National Park and Bandhavgarh National Parks.
Make a visit to Narmada River Ghats. Mahatma Gandhiji’s ashes were immersed at the Tilwara Ghat.
