Hawa Mahal is a unique structure. As the name itself suggests the palace has been built to get some fresh breeze. This is an extension of the city palace, closer to the zenana of the queens. Hawa Mahal was built around 1799 by the grandson of Maharaja Jai Singh the II (Sawai Pratap Singh).
Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observatory built by Raja Jai Singh II. Raja Jai Singh has built total five observatories. The site has been declared a world heritage center by UNESCO.
Along with these the Tourists should also visit Albert Hall (a museum now), Jal Mahal, Galtaji (small complex with a temple of sun god) and the Amber Fort. Amber Fort was the earlier capital of the Kachchawahas (Maharaja Jai Singh II belongs to this clan) clan which ruled over the city of Jaipur. The fort complex includes many worth seeing structures like Diwan e Khas. If you have time you can also visit nearby temples (Laxmi Narayan temple), gardens and lakes (Ram Nivas Bagh, Sambhar Lake).
