Kathgodam lying immediately on the Northern side of Haldwani is its twin town in Nanital district of Uttarkhand state in India. Katgodam is a small village on the last station of Indian Railways Himalayan network, beyond this one is required to travel by roads to the destinations like Nanital, Ranikhet and Almora etc. Kathgodam has an altitude of 1500 feet (550 meters) situated at the banks of Gaula River. The local attractions at Kathgodam are Sheetla Devi Temple, Kalichaud Temple and Hairakhan Ashram. A Dam built on Gola River is also a spot worth visiting.
