Kumbhalgarh is town in Rajsamand District in the state of Rajasthan India. It lays 102 Kms. to the west of Udaipur. Famous for its wild life sanctuary and an old historical fort. The nearest airport is Udaipur. It is also reachable from Udaipur by car. Kumbhalgarh is a craze for photographers having interests in Jungle safaris. A trekking to the fort can be fun for the holidayers. The fort of Kumbhalgarh along the banks of river Banas is most secured forts with its boundary wall running up to 36 Kms. The wall is second after the Great Wall of China. The fortress is protected by seven gates built at the wall which is broad enough for the movement of an eight Horses drawn carriage. There is a two storied palace on the top of Fort known as Badal Mahal the palace is split in two parts with a corridor connection. One part is for males and the second is the female portion. Coming down the plains we see a temple of NeelKanth Mahadeo which has a six feet tall shivlinga deity. Running around the fort in about 580 Sq. Kms lays the wild life sanctuary of Kumbhalgarh. Many animals and birds are found in this sanctuary.
