Melghat Tiger Reserve is among the first nine Tigre reserves in India. It lies at the Northern end of Amravati district in Maharashtra state of India. Tapi River flowing through North and Gwailgadh ridge of Satpura range of mountains forms a natural boundary to the reserve park. Many different types of Flora and Fauna species are found here. The main fauna found in the reserve are Leopard, Tiger, Wild Dog, Sloth Bear, Sambar, Barking Deer, Neelgai, etc. The forest is about 225 Kms west of Nagpur. Nearest Railhead is Amravati but can also be approached from Nagpur directly. Good roads connection is present. Nearest Airport is Nagpur 225 kms.
