Nalagarh is a city in Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in the district of Solan of the state. In medieval times it was known as Hindur. The history of Nalagarh dates back to 1100 AD when it was founded by the Chandella Rajput. Presently the city of Nalagarh is emerging economic and industrial hub. There are some training courses conducted for water sport like boating and swimming. Yadavindra Gardens is another place of attraction frequently visited by tourists. The garden is in Mughal style arhetecture and it was designed in 17th century. The garden is situated in the foothill of Shivalik range. It has seven beautiful downward terraced lawns. It is classic example of Charbagh which has a waterway in the middle of garden with green pitches on its both sides. The garden has other attraction like Japanese garden, a mini Zoo and lighted fountains. Nalagarh is well linked by roads to other parts of the state and the country. Many state run buses and other private vehicles connect it to Chandigarh Delhi and other cities and towns of the state and the country. Ghanauli railway station serves the nearest railway head to Nalagarh and is just 21 km away from it. The railway station is well connected to Delhi, Howrah, Mumbai and other cities and towns of the state and the country. Chandigarh Airport is closest airbase to Nalagarh. The airport is just 55 km away from it and is well linked to other major cities of India.
