Patna is the capital city of the state of Bihar, India. It is a major trading hub for agricultural products like sugarcane, wheat, sesame and oilseed. In ancient times it was known by the name of Patliputra and was the capitals of Magadh Empire. It has seen many dynasties like Haranya, Mauraya, Sunga, Gupta etc. present modern city of Patna is perched on the southern banks of the river Ganga. In 2009 World Bank ranked it second after Delhi among the best cities in India to start business.

Har Mandir Saheb is the birth place of tenth guru of Sikh Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee. Golaghar is another place in Patna. The structure was built in 1786 to store the food for the soldiers. Sanjay Gandhi Botanical and Zoological Garden is another place of attraction in Patna. Mahavir Mandir, Gandhi museum, Padri ki Haveli, Buddha Smriti Park and Vaishali Stupa are some of many other places to be seen in and around Patna.
Patna is well connected by rail, road and air to other parts of the state and the country. Loknayak Jayprakash Airport of Patna is well linked regular flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and other major cities of the country. Patna railway station is connected by many trains to Lucknow, Chandigarh, Delhi, Nagpur, Raipur , Amritsar, Jaipur , and Bangalore, Chennai and many other cities and towns of the country. Many state run buses and other private vehicles like cars and luxury buses are also available from other parts of the state and the country.
