Rudraprayag is a district and town in the Uttrakhand State in India. It is situated at the meeting of Rivers Alaknanada and Mandakani at an altitude of 900 meters. Internationally renowned Hindu Holy site of Kedarnath is just 84 Kms from here and lies in Rudraprayag. Shri Kedarnath Temple is situated to the North of the district, Madmaheshwar lies to the East, Nagrasu to the South East and Shrinagar lies at the extreme south. Further Uttarkashi District is situated to the North of Rudraprayag, Chamoli District to the East, Pauri Garhwal District and Tehri Garhwal District to its South. Holy river Mandakani oriniganating from Kedarnath is the chief river of the district.
