Shravanabelagola is a town in Hassan District of Karnataka state in India. It is 160 Kms from Bangalore, A huge statue of Bahubali Gommateshvara in Shravanabelagola is an important site for Jain pilgrims. A statue of Gommateshvara is located on the Vindyagiri Hills the statue is 57 feet tall and is the world’s largest monolithic stone statue. A Mahamastakabhisheka ceremony is held every twelfth year when the statue is bathed in milk, Curd, Honey Ghee and Gold coins. Then Lacks of pilgrims visit Shravanbelagola.
