Srivardhan is a tahsil town in the state of Maharashtra, India. It comes under the Raigad district of the state. Srivardhan is a growing seaside resort as it has some beautiful beaches and other panoramic natural sites in and around it. It is the birth place of Balaji Vishwanath, the first Peshava of Maratha kingdom appointed by Chhatrapati Shahu (grandson of Chhatrapati Shivaji). Srivardhan is believed to be visited by Pandava in their pilgrimage tour. The town is historical significant as it was visited by many traders of the past. Kondivali Beach, situated just 4 km of Srivardhana, it fulfills the dream of water sport lovers by offering them a perfect spot for water sport. Long stretched white sand of the beach fascinates the tourists. Harihareshwar Beach is another attractive beach near Srivardhan. It is an ideal place to spend holidays. Its clean, cool and unspoiled environs attract many tourists. Sri Harihar hill located there adds to the beauty of the beach. The temple of Kalbhairav is located near the beach. It is the temple of lord Shiva and is visited by many devotees on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. You can also visit Yogeshwari temple. It is situated in the premises of Kalbhairav temple. Ganesh Gully is yet another place of attraction near Srivardhan. It is a narrow ditch of 3 feet between the two Rocky Mountains. It is said that at the end of that long narrow channel is the idol of Lord Ganesha. Bagmanadala is another interesting place near Srivardhan. It is a small village where Peshwas of Maratha Empire spent many years. Peshwa Smarak and ancient fort named as Bankort fort are interesting places to be seen here. State run buses and other private vehicles connect Srivardhan to Pune, Mangaon, Mumbai and other cities and towns of the state. Mangaon which is about 65 km away from Srivardhan serves as the nearest rail head to it and is well connected to Mumbai, Pune and other parts of the state. Pune Airport serves as the closest air base to it. The air port is well linked to other major cities of the country.
