Shri Ganganagar placed at the notthen tip of Rajasthan, India is a city and district of same name or often called Ganganagar. The temperature of the place touches two extremes in a year. It touches up to 50°centigrade in summers and drops to even 0° in winters. The rainfall is very poor only 20 mm throughout the year. The excess water of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh states are drawn to Ganganagar district for Agriculture by the Ganga canal. Hence there is large scale production of crops in Ganganagar. Wheat, Mustard and Cotton are the main crops of the region thereby giving the title of ‘The Food Basket of Rajasthan’ to the town. Other crops grown here are Guar, Bajara , Grams and sugar cane. Kinnu fruit is also being grown here by some farmers . The major industries are Agriculture based here like Cotton Ginning and pressing units, Oil extracting mills, flour mills and Sugar mills etc. A spinning textile factory JCT Mills is very famous of this area. There are many tourist sites in this area some of those are Anupagad ka Qila, Hindumalkot Border, Laila Majnu Ki Mazaar, Some religious places are Gurudwara Sri Budha Johar Shahab, Ram Mandir, Gauri Shanker Mandir and Shivpuri Kagad. Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station is also a place worth visitiung once in Ganganagar.
